[life] Beautiful, beautiful soup
So I'm making soup. Baked potato soup, actually, which is a gloriously unhealthy, absolutely delicious blend of potato, cheese, bacon, and onion. It is good enough to warrant the approximately 3 hour process of making it. The making of roux and the peeling and chopping and sauteing and stirring and waiting and tasting and waiting some more.
Soup requires patience. You can't hurry soup. Soup moves at its own pace. Soup is better the longer it sits, it mellows, it relaxes, it gets down with itself. Soup tells us that we should all get along, things are better when we all become friends and start to mingle. Soup is comfortable and comforting. Soup knows a thousand stories, and tells them all at once.
I'd better go stir it a little more.
