[writing] Green
I've pimped Ursula Vernon here before, but I'm happy to do it again. She's a very talented artist and writer, and I've always thought that she will make it big, simply because she is so multi-talented and so deserving.
And now a literary agent has called her up, and asked to represent her. This is - so rare as to be astonishing. The more usual process being that the writer queries and revises and queries and revises and gives up on the first maunscript and writes another and then queries and revises some more and then if you are very lucky some agent asks to see the full manuscript and if you are luckier still, takes you on and then starts trying to sell your book.
So you can see where Ursula's route is much more appealing. It couldn't happen to a more deserving person, but that tiny shrieking baby that is my writer's ego is screaming, "Why not meeeee?!?" The answer being, of course, because I am not nearly as visible or well known and I don't have a close friend who is a successful novelist to mention me to her friends in the biz.
Also, I don't have a completed novel, which Ursula also has. So, uh, I guess I should get on that.
