[writing] shhh, don't scare it off....
I've made some forward progress on the ending of my novel. For quite a while, I've been labouring away at a mid point that needed some heavy revision, and I think I finally have an idea of where the characters need to be in terms of relationships with one another by the bit of the end that I had to quit working on because I didn't know that.
Wow, that was an ugly sentence. In any case, I more or less know how to go about writing the ending. Hurrah! I think I do, at least. Let us be more circumspect, lest we frighten the muse. She's been extra skittish recently. (Hurrah.)
Also re-read Bag of Bones, by Stephen King, today. It's one of his better later books, although I could have done without the "Outsider" crap dropped in at the end. It is notable for being one of his many iterations of "writer guy deals with supernatural crap." Not quite as horrifying as The Dark Half, but a good shivery read none the less.
