[life] Falling down
The huge maple that's been there since before we built the house suffered a serious wind-related accident last night. Or was it yesterday? I don't know, I'm a stay-at-home writer, time has no meaning to me.
I grew up with this tree. It was the perfect climbing tree- as my legs grew, so did it, making it always the exact same tree to climb. I loved that tree, it was my place to go and read/think important thoughts/sulk. My dad sent me some pictures, and I just about cried.

Luckily, the theory is that this was actually two seperate trees growing right next to one another - the half that remains upright should be okay on its own, although my dad is about to go crazy on it with the trimming to maintain balance.
I'm just glad it didn't fall on the house or their vehicles or anything. That's a hell of a lot of tree.
