[life] Today, we planted.
Yesterday my long-suffering and wholely wonderful husband weeded the hideous triangle patch beneath our living room window and today we went and bought a bunch of stuff to put in it. A round cedar bush, some hostas, some other grassy looking stuff I can't recall the name of, and some impatiens to fill the gaps while the perennials work at fulfilling their potential.
It was very rewarding, grubbing in the dirt alongside my husband, turning the soil, laying out the plants and then putting them in. Digdig, plantplant. Everytime we do something like this, I feel like the house has become more ours. Next step is getting some cedr chips to spread around to discourage the scourge of weeds that we have going on. Weeding the front patch is an ongoing struggle.
Ah, summer.
