[life] and lo, the bathroom was made new

Or that's the hope, anyway.

One day into renovations family style, and my upstairs is a drywall abbatoir. White dust abounds, the bathroom is a gutted wreck with only the toilet still standing firm amist the chaos. All the drywall behind the tub and shower surround was rotted and mildewed and needing removal. The flooring is all gone. The sink and cabinet and mirror are all gone. Our new tub sits in our living room, white and deep and shining, and I can't get use it yet as my father in law is still trying to puzzle out how to make the new plumbing meet the old plumbing and, hopefully, fall in love and get hitched.

But I have hope. I have faith in my family's skills. I have brushed nickle faucets and I have a dream. A dream of a bathroom, lovely and gracious, where I can take a long hot soak without feeling as though I need a decontamination protocol afterwards.

It's going to be a long haul.
