[dollie] purge!
I am doing a winnowing of my flock. Roughly 1/4 of my figures are going up on Ebay or various other places. I had a lot of figures that I wasn't really all that fond of - just space fillers or old work or the like. They're perfectly nice, they just aren't thrilling me anymore. I may thin the herd further as the summer progresses, I don't know. I've never been much of a collector, and since I've begun to get into bjds, I've had the urge to really pare down my 1/6 investment. Much better to have a few loved pieces than a bunch that never get a glance. Let them go to someone who will enjoy them.
More than that, even - I intend to start using my stockpile of bodies for custom figures as I design new patterns and outfits for BT. When I get a good idea, I'll clothe a figure and sell the whole thing. That should use up that drawerful pretty fast. I'll hang onto one figure of each type, just for fitting purposes, but really - what's the point of having them just sitting there? I don't really want to rebuild a larger collection. Might as well get some use out of them.
It feels really freeing to make this decision. I've sort of been wanting to do it for a while, and the hoarder in me was crying, "no! no! Cys are so hard to find! You'll never be able to replace them!" I finally admitted to myself that I didn't want to replace them.
This is by no means an end to my 1/6 hobby. I still really enjoy 1/6, I have no intention of selling my favorite figures, and BT will continue strong, should anyone be worried. ;) It's more of a change of attitude toward the hobby.

Way to go! This should not only clear space, but fill the piggybank for that hopefully-not-too-far-away Unoa preorder. I sold some custom figures a while back to pay for one of my bjd's too.
