[dollie] Oh dear, I'm blushing.

Blushing was dead easy, thanks to a great tutorial in a book called "The BJD Obyrarium." In many ways it's a bit of a crap book (there are two "stories" in there, and I use the term lightly, and both are complete ass. The manga is worse than the photostory, but not by much) but the tutorials are top notch.

I blushed her very lightly, since I don't really like the ow, sunburn look that heavy blushing has. She looks lovely, all delicate and pale but still warm and living. I used cheapo chalk pastels from Micheals with makeup brushes, and it worked just fine. I'm pretty proud of my job, actually.

The faceup, not so much with the proud. It's serviceable, and I think not quite poison to the eyes, but it is crude. It's just a placeholder til Yuki is taking commissions again, anyway. I think that with about a year of practice, I might get to the point where I don't suck, but I'd rather pay someone else who's already done that year, and get on with my sewing. Delegation. It's where it's at.

In the meantime, Helly won't break the camera while I'm snapping shots of my sewing, so that's all I really need. I have eyelashes on order with a Luts group order, so I'll try my hand at that when they arrive, too. I guess she'll just go minimalist til then. Good thing she's a patient type!
