[dollie] Not all hair is created equal

I'm doing a reroot at the moment, transplanting Janay hair (long and lusciously multicoloured) into a Cy Girl Nikki head (great sculpt, crappy flash-fried trailer trash yellow locks). Going from one head to another is great, because the hair is already divided into neat plugs for you, and you just cut a plug, insert, repeat. No lost hair, or tangles, or throwing out half of it because it's just too flyaway.

However, I've noticed that alas, Janay hair is not the same silky, pliant saran that Barbie hair is. It's a bit stiffer, a bit crispy, and so my usual knotting technique is requiring that I both wet the hair before I tie it, and then, pinching the end so hard that I drive my fingernail deeply into the meat of my thumb, yank sharply several times to tighten the knot. After about five plugs, my thumb is starting to look a bit red and puffy.

I may need to resort to the good ol' candle method. Arg. Takes - so - long!
